Graduated Year 2016
My career in this industry began after I signed up for an Instagram for Business account to showcase my works. Aside from baking customized cakes, I also host workshops to teach cake decoration techniques.
The On-Job Training programme helped me a lot to kick start my career. When I was undergoing my training in Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, I learnt lots of baking techniques and management skills.
In the future, I hope to host more baking workshops and continue to learn newer cake decorating techniques.

The knowledge and skills that I learnt at Cilantro Culinary Academy helped me quite a lot, especially basic knowledge such as hygiene and handling of tools and equipment.
I particularly enjoyed doing the plating for my customer’s order, because I can do it in my own creative way. Plus, I can manage my own time and finish my work accordingly.

Home Baker at Cake My Day
Graduated Year 2018
I started becoming a full time home based baker 1 month after my On-Job Training. During that month, I practiced and tried new recipes to get my career started.
Cilantro Culinary Academy has trained me in this field to master the fundamentals and skills, so that I won’t lose my direction.
To all who wish to study pastry arts, always strive to learn new things. When you have an idea, act on it swiftly before someone else beats you to it. If you are doing something you are passionate about, always persevere until the end.
Assistant Pastry Chef at C Project
Graduated Year 2012
Cilantro Culinary Academy offered me more than just knowledge and skills, they taught me to have discipline, gave me a chance to prove myself worthy and showcase my creativity. They put me through hardship, pressure and lots of training.
I got scolded, criticized, distracted, encouraged and trained within its walls. But the most valuable lesson they taught me is to never give up, there will be setbacks, every mistake has a lesson, and then we move forward like a moth to a distant moon.
With their help, I’ve achieved something I never thought I would, and be the person I am today.

Freelance Caterer & Pastry Supplier
Graduated Year 2015
I loved baking and it has always been my passion so I decided to take up a full time pastry course to learn more.
Learning how to manage cost and the theories behind cooking & baking helped me understand why things are done a certain way and in turn improved my understanding and the food I produced.
Being a caterer is hard work! But I get to experiment with new flavours, meet new people, learn more about the Malaysian palate and most importantly, people get to enjoy my food. It is a constantly evolving industry and trending foods give me an opportunity to try new things or even fuse local ingredients and flavours.
